The Perfect Solution for Strong Willed Dogs

After trying multiple versions of harnesses (because they are suppose to be the kindest option), we were finally guided towards the Korrection Slip Leash via a friend, who uses one for her dog walking business.
At first we were quite hesitant, as it (seems) like an agressive way of control. Thankfully we had already had our training via our friend, but the lovely people at 24K9 have a comprehensive training guide if you are not confident.
Because our Amstaff is (very) head strong (not to mention physically strong!), we were constantly wrestling with her whenever she got excited. Her reasons for pulling vary from day to day with no two days being the same. I should add there are a plenty of days, where nothing exciting happens and we have a completely calm walk. 🐕
Our main frustration though has always been her need to walk in front. It was only after our friend pointed out (what should have been obvious) to us. Because she has an amputation, she is always going to walk at a faster pace than most. This becomes particularly obvious when you try to pull her to heel. We instinctively slow down, but she has to maintain her same pace. Which is, understandably very frustating for both.
The bottom line is, you can't always (fix) all of your dogs behaviours, but with the right equipment, you can look forward to a much calmer experience. Her reactivity to various stimulants is a work in progress, but at least now with this one very well made, comfortable to hold, innovative, simple to use tool, we are definitely much calmer and more confident with our approach for her future training.

The little black tap with the rivets fell off the first time I used this leash. Otherwise I like how comfortable the handle is. Overall pretty good.
